Meet Jess,

Clinical Naturopath.

Jessica Diakoumakos

Hi, I'm Jess.

I'm a clinical naturopath and the founder of Emba Wellness. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy and a Bachelor of Health Science in Psychology with Honours — eight years of full-time tertiary education, and honestly, I'd do it all again.

I started Emba Wellness because I kept seeing the same thing happen to people I cared about. They'd go to their GP feeling exhausted, hormonally all over the place, or with gut symptoms that had been going on for years. They'd have blood tests done and be told everything was fine. They'd leave without answers, without a plan, and — worst of all — without feeling believed.

That gap is what I built this practice around. Not replacing conventional medicine, but sitting in the space it often doesn't have time for: the deep dive. The root cause. The why.

My clinical focus is gut health, nervous system health, hormonal health, and functional pathology — the intersection of those four things covers a remarkable amount of what drives people to seek help. I'm particularly obsessed with the microbiome and what it tells us about everything from mood to immunity to skin. I'm also trained in functional pathology interpretation, which means I can look at a standard blood test that a GP has told you is "normal" and find what's actually going on — because "normal" and "optimal" are not the same thing.

I practice from a bio-individual standpoint. That means your plan is built around your biochemistry, your history, and your life — not a template. There is no one-size-fits-all in this work.

"The most common thing I hear when someone first comes to see me is that they've been told their results are fine — but they still feel terrible. My job is to ask the next question."

how i work.

Every client at Emba Wellness gets the same thing from the first session: time, attention, and a genuine attempt to understand what's actually going on.

Before we meet, you'll complete a comprehensive digital health intake. That document — your history, your symptoms, your current medications and supplements, your diet, your stress, your sleep — is what I use to prepare. By the time we're on the call, I've already started thinking about your case.

In the consultation, we go deep. I'm not looking for what to prescribe. I'm looking for why your body is doing what it's doing. What's the mechanism? What's driving this? What would change everything?

Your treatment plan lands in your inbox within 24 hours — written, detailed, and specific to you. If you need herbal medicine or supplements, they're dispensed through practitioner-only suppliers and sent via Express Post, wherever you are in Australia.

I also order and interpret functional pathology. If you've got results that have been brushed off as "normal," bring them. If you need testing that your GP hasn't ordered, I can arrange it.

A Note on My Approach.

I want to be upfront about something, because I think it matters.

Naturopathic medicine works best as a complement to conventional care — not a replacement for it. I don't ask clients to abandon their GPs or stop taking medications that are helping them. I work alongside your existing healthcare team. I can write summaries for your GP. I can review your pathology in the context of what your specialist has told you.

What I offer is time and depth — both of which are increasingly hard to find in a standard medical appointment. I use evidence-based approaches, I update my practice as the research evolves, and I'll always be honest with you about what I can and can't help with.

If you come to me with something outside my scope, I'll tell you — and I'll help you find the right person.
